CLOSE OF INDOOR SEASON 2007 - 2008

The end of the indoor season is now coming to an end.

It has been pleasing to note that the standards of shooting has increased when compared to last year. With everyone having to shoot at least 550 on a Portsmouth to guarantee a place in the A team it has meant we have all had to shoot at our best. This has had the effect of increasing the scores of the B team. The B team has managed to win each of its league shoots so far, with only the results of March to wait for it is possible that the B Team have a chance of winning their league. Well done to all those who shot regularly during the league shoots, this increased the level of competition and reflected in such good scores being shot.

Three club records have been broken during the indoor season (well three that I have noticed). With Tony D breaking the Portsmouth record (which he previously held). Mike E breaking the Worcester record (taking this from Tony D). Also Catherine S has broken the Ladies Portsmouth Record (previously held by Toni H). Well done to all three! I am certain that Mike won’t let Tony, or anyone else, forget he has managed to beat Tony’s Worcester score. Also congratulation to Tony for wining the DCAA indoor champs.

Finally a thank you for all those who have attended the indoors and supported the League shoots making this one of the highest scoring indoor seasons we have had. With the close of the indoor season we can all now look forward to having a great outdoors. I am looking forward to the League shoots, which hopefully will be equally as well attended. Remembering that with there being a team based on individuals handicap ratings everyone has a chance of scoring points for the club. If anyone doesn’t have a handicap please ask me, or any of the experienced archers about this and we will help you with this.

Good Luck to everyone in the upcoming season.
