Tom Emery takes the County “Triple Crown”
byPhil Rees
In his first season of competitive Longbow archery, Pastures Company of Archers junior Tom Emery has succeeded in winning all three county and regional junior Longbow Championships titles. Tom’s “triple crown” victories began with a win at the East Midland Archery Society regional championships shooting the Bristol III round. Following his regional championship title, he then continued his winning form at the Derbyshire County Archery Association championships held at Lees Brook Community Sports College becoming D.C.A.A. Junior longbow champion. The final act of Tom’s Triple Crown success came at the D.C.A.A. Double one way Clout Championship held at Burton Bridge Archers where he took the junior longbow title with a tassel award winning score.
In between county and regional titles Tom has also found time to win the Nott’s Archery Society Open Longbow junior metric (Visitor), the Meriden Longbow Short Windsor and take second place in the Bow International summer series.
It only remains to be said that all the members of Pastures Company of Archers would like to offer their congratulations on an outstanding season of competition wins and hope Tom can defend his championship titles in 2006.
